Disaster strikes
It happened last monday. We had arrived at a church to attend an AIG (answers in genesis) video conference. While we waited for the pastor with the keys to the place, we noticed that it was very windy; a section of a tree fell in a yard close to us. This was the tail-end of Hurricane Ike, a Hurricane as big as Texas (no kidding - it really was that big!!). It was late at night when we started to drive back home. We were very surprised when we saw that more than half of the way to our house was without electricity. Police, firetrucks and ambulances were everywhere. Even the gas stations were blacked-out. When we got to our neighborhood, it was exactly the same: no power and not a person in sight. We spend the next day and a half without electricity, and another half-day without internet. But now everything's just as it was before; the internet's back and so are the lights. Oh, the bliss of electricity :)
